June 4, 2020 (SSNN) – A group of angry protesters in South Sudan’s Jonglei state has set on fire the house of state Secretary-General after the killing of five innocent civilians – some of them from Bor – by a relative of president Salva Kiir Mayardit.

Yesterday, Col. Lual Akook Wol Kiir, a cousin to president Salva Kiir and a member of the South Sudan People’s Defense Force (SSPDF) opened fire against a family over land dispute killing five.

Lual who is nicknamed ‘Lual Marine’ later on succumbed to injuries he incurred during standoff with protesters who responded to his senseless killing of the five single family members.

Speaking to South Sudan News Now (SSNN) from Bor town, a protester said the protest was sparked by the killing of Capt. Manyang Chol Manyang who hails  from Adhiok sub-clan in Twic East County.

“The reason is the killing in Juba of Captain Manyang. He his from here and today, some of us [protesters) set the house of the state secretary-general on fire,” the protester said.
