VIDEO: Man Arrested in Northern Uganda For Brutally Assaulting His Grandmother

April 14, 2020(SSNN) — A young man who was later identified as Okello Ocii has been apprehended by the Ugandan police after trying to escape a scene that has gone viral within the last twenty four hours on social media.
Okello, who was captured on a live video brutally beating up an old woman, identified as Anek Lucy, has been arrested by the police and charged for assaulting an elderly woman.
According to credible sources that spoke to South Sudan News Now, Okello was raised by this grandmother he is now beating since he was one week old,
The grandma, Mrs Lucy, raised Okello and his elder brother Opiyo, according to neighbors.
“The old helpless mother is called Anek Lucy, she brought up this boy from one week old plus another elder brother Opiyo being referred to in the Clip. ” The credible source explains.
“She was beaten by Okello Ocii yesterday about 3pm in the afternoon and later collapsed at the roadside as she was on her way to report to LC1.” The source continued.
“Well wishers from the village helped her to get to the Hospital and now being looked after by her daughter.
“He is said to have always been beating the Grandmother.”

Speaking in Acholi, the helpless old lady just wished to die, repeatedly telling his grandson, “kill me so that I can rest”.

The incident occured in Cuda village in Ongako Sub County of Gulu District of Northern Uganda.

According to earlier reports, the old lady lost an eye and was admitted to Gulu hospital. Latest reports from Mr. Opiro Michael, the LCI Chairperson, however, confirms that the old Lady is not very badly off saying she can eat and walk after coming back from Hospital.
Mrs. Lucy is an aunty to late Otema P’Yubu and stays next to Mzee Onyabo’s home in Lagwedola-Amilobo.
