May 13, 2020 (SSNN) – The vice chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo has warned unnamed individuals of conspiracy to relocate his forces outside the capital Khartoum.

The powerful militia commander said, during a press conference after visiting wounded soldiers at a Khartoum hospital, that there were conspiracies to move out the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) outside the capital Khartoum on the pretext to quell tribal conflicts in the states.

“There is a conspiracy that is aimed at withdrawing Rapid Support Forces from Khartoum on the pretext that it will be deployed in areas where there are tribal strife to prevent bloodshed,” Daglo said.

“The recent tribal fighting in the mountains of Southern Darfur state, Kassala and Kadugli, as well as previous fighting that had occurred in El Geneina and Port Sudan, are indications that this plan aims to remove the RSF from Khartoum and deploy it in the outskirt of different states,” he added.

Daglo said since the ouster of long-time leader Omar al-Bashir, the RSF have continue to face a lot of problems among which is the plans by individuals he did name to “exempt it from its role in the liberation of the country from the Islamists.”

“These hands not only destroy the RSF, but also work to destroy Sudan, and we will uncover them in the near future.”

Daglo further urged the people of Sudan to “take advantage of the change that the RSF have helped to realize in the country and promote peaceful co-existence between the different tribes in the country.
