May 11, 2020 (SSNN) – The Sudanese government said on Saturday that it was giving public sector employees a 10-day leave as the country is coping with surge in COVID-19 cases.

Omar Manis, the Sudanese cabinet minister said in a statement on Saturday that he has been directed by the government to offer civil servants a leave for ten (10) days beginning May 9, 2020.

This is in compliance with the required measures to combat the coronavirus pandemic and in accordance with the decision of the higher committee for health emergency on extension of the lockdown in Khartoum State.

The decision includes the employees at the federal ministries and units affiliated to it and Khartoum State.

The decision has directed the ministers and the concerned authorities in Khartoum State to put the decision into effect and to exclude those whom they regard as necessary to continue their service and to carry out the important tasks in coordination with the concerned authorities.
