Nov 23rd, 2019 (SSNN)-The office of the SPLM-IO National Committee for Information and Public Relations has flatly apologized to Major General Wang Chany Thian for a typographical error that made his names appear in a press statement issued on Friday.

“The National Committee for Information and Public Relations of the SPLM / SPLA (IO) would like to issue this public apology to , Maj Gen , Wang Chany Thian Dhoar , Deputy Director for National Security Service ( NSS ) of the SPLM / SPLA ( IO ). The National Committee for Information in a Press Statement issued yesterday ( 22 / 11 / 2019 ), made an error by suggesting that Maj , Gen , Wang Chany was part of the groups who surrendered to the regime and are staying in the hotels in Juba , The press statement intended to mention Wang Chok and not Wang Chany,” said Mabior Garang De Mabior, Chairman of the National Committee for Information and Public Relations of the SPLM / SPLA (IO).

In a press statement to retract the mistake he made without knowledge, the SPLM-IO official, Mabior Garang clarified that the mistake was not made on purpose to ruin and tarnish the image of the SPLA-IO senior officer but it’s a typo error made during the editing process.

“This was the result of an autocorrect error which we overlooked in the editing process and it was not intended to impugn the character of our Brother and Comrade Gen , Wang Chany is a veteran freedom fighter of our peoples ‘ historic liberation struggle and a senior officer in Second liberation , The National Committee for Information and Public Relations of the SPLM / SPLA ( IO) regret any distress this error may have caused to Gen , Wang Chany and his family.”
