South Sudan’s Bright Star leads 44 international teams in latest FIFA ranking

April 8th 2019 (SSNN) – A latest ranking by the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) has put South Sudan’s Bright Star leading more than 40 teams from different Asian, African and Latin American teams despite being at the bottom on the list of EAC [Eastern Africa Community]  member states.

The FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking released on Thursday ranked Senegal 23rd . This means Senegal’s national team, the Teranga Lions, are Africa’s top team. At number 79 according to the ranking, Uganda is number one among East African Community member states. It’s followed by Kenya and Tanzania in second and third positions respectively.

Burundi, Rwanda and South Sudan are 4th, 5th, and 6th respectively among EAC member states.

This FIFA ranking for men’s teams puts South Sudan’s Bright Stars above 44 national teams including of Malaysia, Cuba, Chad, Bangladesh, Seychelles, Djibouti, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Eritrea and Somalia among others.

The FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking features 211 teams.
