South Sudan praises China for helping countries in coronavirus fight

April 3, 2020 (SSNN) — South Sudan president on Thursday expressed his appreciation to the Chinese government and people for playing a central role in supporting other countries globally in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

President Salva Kiir emphasized that his government and people will continue to firmly support China’s efforts and effective measures to control the spread of the pandemic.

In addition, the South Sudan revealed this information: “So far, South Sudan has tested 18 people, all of them came out negative.” No confirmed cases yet in the country.

Reports further say that South Sudan had already established isolation and treatment centres for the COVID-19, trained rapid response teams, and front-line medical staff to respond quickly to possible situations. Screening sites have been established, and monitoring mechanisms have been initiated in communities and medical institutions.

He also said that South Sudan will continue to work hard and hand in hand with China to ease the challenges encountered by Chinese enterprises in their production and operations in the African country.
