South Sudan Minister of Finance Approves Million of Dollars For His Son Burial
May 9, 2020(SSNN) — South Sudan’s Ministry of Finance and Planning approves 30 millions South Sudanese pound, which is more than 1 million US Dollar, for burial rite for the son of minister Hon. Salvatore Garang Mabior,
The approval came within less than 24 hours following the death of the Minister’s son, leaving doubts on how much was spent on his treatment and whether or not 30 millions SSP was necessary for the burial.
The document has gone viral on social media and many South Sudanese are questioning who is behind the request and whether the minister is aware of this,
According to Dr. Jok Madut Jok the Minister of Finance and Planning, Hon. Salvatore Garang Mabior, should not allow his subordinates to steal public money and staint his legacy;
“As if the pain of death is not enough, looters are taking advantage of the demise of the son of Salvatore Garang Mabior Wol, minister of finance in South Sudan to raid public coffers. Will Honorable allow his name and the legacy of his precious son be tainted with this theft? 30 million SSP for a funeral, paid by the starving public! And we wonder why our people are so disappointed, so outraged sometimes?” Said Dr. Jok Madut Jok.
“I am disappointed beyond crocodile teeth to see that a son most highest position tainted black by opportunists” said Marial Gabriel De Akoon
“Did the honourable minister reject the offer in the first place? This document is approved already as signed. It’s likely that, Hon. Salvatore Garang Mabiordit is well aware of this document. It’s a shame that the poor public is left to digest the pain of this run away level of corruption. Pathetic!” said Cyer Maroundit
