South Sudan: Last vice-president recovers from COVID-19
June 13, 2020 (SSNN) – South Sudan vice-president, James Wani Igga has said this afternoon that he has recovered from the novel coronavirus.
This makes him the last – of three – vice-presidents to beat the respiratory sickness which is also known as COVID-19 after Vice President Hussein Abdelbaggi and First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny recovered last week.
Speaking to South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation, Igga said he has been tested twice since he was first tested positive in late April and that the results came back negative leading to his release from quarantine by the doctors.
After 18 days, I have been tested twice and the results have come back negative both time,” Igga speaking in Juba-Arabic and English said. “This means that coronavirus is no more.”
He further thanked the people of South Sudan whom he said have been calling since he was tested positive for the virus.
