May 18, 2020 (SSNN) – South Sudan coronavirus cases have skyrocketed to 347 after the country’s ministry of health announced in the capital Juba this evening that 57 more people have tested positive for the deadly virus.
The undersecretary in the ministry of health, Dr. Makur Koriom, said in a statement to the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC) that all, but two, of the latest cases are South Sudanese.
He said that two more deaths – one of which is a prominent businessman – have been recorded bringing the overall number of those who died from the virus to six (6).
“Fifty-seven (57) people have tested positive and two more have died. So, we have 347 cases and six deaths as well as four recoveries,” he said.
