May 10, 2020 (SSNN) —  South Sudan politicians took up the responsibility to deliberately fight the global pandemic. One challenge, however, the South Sudan political team took the challenge over themselves and forgot to include the most important health constituent in the country, the South Sudan Doctors’ Union (SSDU)

With this, I don’t think it carries an immense importance leaving out the technical team of the South Sudan Doctors’ Union (SSDU). This union is supposed to be armed to teeth and fight the global pandemic if at all things went well. But because nothing went well, it technically reminds us that the ministry of health underestimates and politicizes our health (public health) with an incitement even less than our lives comes in the name of donation.

The faces seen at the front-line battling with the forces of this Pandemic have failed several times to launch frontal attacks at some points. It really looks unfortunate that the regular faces keep re-appearing in every process. The same dirty hands in different pots add insult to injury. My psychology tells me that we are just backing a wrong horse, they are accustomed to failure.

Our dear home was almost the last in this region invaded by the Pandemic if not mistaken.Thereby, the government was given a breathing space and a window for preparation to be well armed with all the facts about the spread and the preventive measures of the pandemic but no, the case came to rest under a political hand. It is up to you to judge whether this hand is dirty or clean. I individually doubt that things to do with this can be successfully curbed by the politicians.

So, our response to this global business is never a positive one and so backfires a lot. However, I would encourage the young ones, to be proactive in preventing the potential spread of this Pandemic. It now becomes our collective responsibility after being dropped by the political task force. The number of the new cases is shouting higher.

Stay home and save lives!
