Sat January 20th, 2019(SSNN) — The Minister of Information in the Northern Liech State Lam Tungwuar went viral on social media condemning the Government of Tonj and its people because of cattle rustling which occurred on 15th Jan 2019 in Mayom. He reported the causalities of 28 Bul of Mayom killed, 22 wounded and 3000 cattle taken .The minister warned the TonJ State Government to arrest those involved and return the cattle.

I believe the Government of TonJ did not instruct the cattle rustlers to invade, kill and rape those pastoralists camping in Loat, Bul East County. The Minister by all accounts should not accuse the TonJ Government of complicity in the perpetration of violence and murder as far as cattle rustling is concern.

In my opinion, the minister should not go viral on social media accusing another State government of colluding with those he term criminals from Tonj. By so doing the minister is fuelling and stoking tension between the Dinka of Tonj and Bul Nuer. He even went further saying the youth in the region will retaliate with devastating consequences!

The Dinka of Barh el Ghazal had suffered under the people of Mayom since 1984.Murder and destruction of their property under the militias of late Paulino Matip and Peter Gatdet culminated into the death of one of the SPLM/SPLA founders , Kerbino Kuayin Bol in Makein . Women were raped, cattle worth millions of dollars were looted and the entire Baher Ghazal remains improvised to this today.

Recently, in 2015 Bul Militias known as Ter Chuong went on carnage taking women, cattle, dry fish ,meat and destroying crops from Rubkona,Koch,Guit,Mayendit and Leer counties because they perceived these counties SPLM/SPLA IO. More surprisingly, the president did not give orders to the forces of Puol Jang,Bapiny mantuil and his brother Nguen Joseph Manytuil to loot these tremendous amount of property and to commit serious gross human rights violations under international law.
They are failing in the institution of mechanism of conflict resolution in Norhern Liech state.Inciting youth to avenge and retaliate in the name of cattle rustling is untenable .In any eventuality the people of Tonj State must take the word of information minister of Northern Liech,Hon Lam Tungwuar seriously .Our people in Bentiu yawned for peace and not cattle.
The First vice President,LT General Taban Deng was articulate in handling those issues in Bentiu during his tenure and well conversant with conflict resolution among the Nuer and Dinka in Bentiu before.

In order to solve or even transform the conflict between TonJ and Mayom the current leadership under Nguen Joseph has decayed and is tending to confuse the citizens of Northern Liech to focus on another political front. It is being rumored that Nguen Joseph is trying to switch his loyalty from the president and surreptitiously allying himself with the opposition icon Dr Riek Machar Teny Dhuorgon. This is because he is not happy with the appointment of LT General Taban Deng Gai in the Government of President Salva Kiir. The Nuer of good faith will reconcile both Lt General Taban Deng and Dr Riek in the foreseeable future. The counties of Rubkona, Guit,Leer,Koch and Mayendit will support any one in Greater Bentiu but not from Mayom anymore in their political aspirations and convictions.
