Machar sends message of condolences on the passing of the late Gen. Saddam Manyang

December 18th, 2019 (SSNN)-The main opposition leader, Dr. Riek Machar has conveyed his heartfelt condolences on the untimely passing on of the SPLM-IO’s senior commander and former Governor of Adar State, Sadam Chayuot Manyang Wuor, who passed away on Tuesday in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum after he had been battling with liver cancer.

“Gen. Sadam Chayuot Manyang Wuor has passed on yesterday 17/12/2019 at 8:45 PM in Doctors’ Clinic, Khartoum, Sudan. He died of liver cancer,” the Chairman and Commander-In-Chief Dr. Riek Machar Teny said in a statement.

The SPLM-IO leadership revered the late General Sadam Chayuot Manyang for his heroic sacrifice during the country’s liberation struggle.

“The body of Gen. Sadam Chayout Manyang Wuor shall be flown to Longechuk, Adar State for burial. Gen. Sadam Chayuot Manyang Wuor is a hero of the struggle for Self-Determination and Independence of South Sudan as well as of the current struggle for Federalism and Reform in the Republic of South Sudan.”

Machar expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and members of the opposition group on the passing on of the SPLM-IO senior commander, General Sadam Chayuot Manyang.

“On behalf of SPLM/SPLA(IO) and the South Sudanese people, I convey our deep condolences to his family and to all members of SPLM/SPLA(IO) on passing on of this hero. May God rest his soul in etermal poace.”
