Sep 09, 2020(SSNN) — South Sudan President Salva Kiir met the leaders of Sudan’s Revolutionary Front, representing Central, Eastern and Northern tracks in which each negotiation track tackles the grievances of a certain region in Sudan.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, the representative of Central Sudan track, Dr. El Tom Haju said that they will sign a final Peace Agreement with Sudan’s Transitional Government on the 2nd October.

Dr. El Tom Haju said the peace agreement will address the root causes of the Sudanese conflicts and establish a roadmap towards achieving a lasting peace in the war-torn Sudan.

“that will address Sudan’s root causes of the conflicts, and establish a road mark towards achieving total peace in Sudan.” Dr. Tom said.

Speaking on behalf of the peace mediators, Dr. Dhieu Mathok, a member of the mediation committee for Sudan Peace Talks, said that President Salva Kiir will continue to follow up with the Sudanese parties to ensure that the agreement is fully implemented.

Despite lacking behind on her own peace implementation, South Sudan is putting in extra efforts to the northern neighbor in peace.

If implemented, the peace agreement in Sudan could restore political stability and improve lives in Darfur, Southern Kordofan and the Blue Niles.

The parties have initialled a Joint Agreement and Declaration of Principles recently in Juba-South Sudan and Addis Ababa-Ethiopia.
