January 3rd, 2020 (SSNN)—World War III is looming on the horizon as military confrontation between the US and Iranian military forces is in the offing in the Middle East after the US President, Donald Trump had ordered the killing of Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani.

On Friday, Iranian military forces launched several fighter jets in response to the US airstrikes which led to the death of Iran’s most feared commander, Qasem Soleimani.

In a statement on social media, the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif slammed the United States for instigating heightened military tensions in the Middle East.

“The US bears responsibility for all consequences of its rogue adventurism.”

In response to the accusations, US Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Dominic Raap said the United States killed the notorious commander with good reason, claiming that he was responsible for masterminding an offensive against US forces carried out earlier this week.

“We have always recognised the aggressive threat posed by the Iranian Quds force led by Qasem Soeleimani.

The US official called on Iranian troops to withdraw from strategic areas to avoid an all-out war between Washington and Tehran.

“Following his death, we urge all parties to de-escalate. Further conflict is in none of our interests”.

Earlier today, the Pentagon announced the deployment of 3,500 heavily armed US forces in the Middle East to defuse military confrontations between the United States and Arab countries.

General Qasem Soleimani, one of the most powerful commanders, was killed on Friday by a US airstrike in Iraq as he was leading an operation as head of Iran’s elite Quds Force.

According to Iran’s news media, Qasem was killed at Baghdad Airport, alongside local Iran-backed militias, early on Friday in a strike ordered by US President Donald Trump.
