General Buay Rolnyang, Puljang reconcile in Juba
The differences between Buay and Puljang came to light in May 2018 when General Buay was arrested by forces loyal to Puljang in Mayom county of Unity state. Puljang had accused Buay of intending to rebel against the rebel forces belonging to the SPLA-IO.
In a statement this morning, Buay announced that he and Puljang have reconciled and that what triggered the differences were plans by some politicians within Bul community who do not want him to prosper.
“This is to inform all our people that Major General Mathew Puljang and I, have resolved our differences that ignited my arrest in 2018, by forces under the command of Major General Mathew Puljang Top,” General Buay said in a statement seen by South Sudan News Now.
“We have realized that our differences were created and instilled by some individuals within our community for political reasons,” he added.
He further thanked “General Bapiny Manytuil, Bul spiritual leaders, acting chairman of Bul community Mathew Wanbang Nyater and the rest of Bul intellectuals for encouraging two of us to reconcile with each other for the sake of peace and unity among our people.”
“Now the two of us have reconciled amicably.”
