FDP Youth League dismisses alleged defection of more than 200 forces
December 29th, 2019 (SSNNāThe leadership of the Federal Democratic Party/South Sudan Armed Forces (FDP-SSAF) has denied allegations that more than 20 senor commanders and 200 troops have defected from the leadership of the FDP-SSAF under Changson Lew Chang and joined the National Salvation Front (NAS)āa splinter faction led by Gen Kalid Boutrus.
āIn response to the forgery document released on 27th December 2019 by one of the āPARTIES WANDERERāā Wilson Dak Wal Wanjang, who shamelessly listed the names of our forces and sent them to social media, claimed that they have defected to Khalid Butros (the defector General of Thomas Ciriloās Party) with him is white lies and baseless allegation,ā said Khan Banguot Gok FDP Youth Spokeperson.
āDak has been fed in the hotel, provided with overall accommodation and assigned with simple task, just to register the names of soldiers who went to cantonments and kept the record for further use, āinstead he had just overwhelmed by enjoyment and listed all the names of our soldiers without consulting them, and just exposed their names on social media that these people defected to Khalid Butros with me.ā
The Youth Spokesperson criticized Wilson for what he termed ālack of military discipline’.
āTo know how Wilson lacks military discipline, when he decided to defect, he first claimed to have resigned and after all [he] defectedā while in military system, you just defect not to resign first and then defected after, as I have seen from him. Again he resigned on 26th December 2019 as a Major and on 27th December 2019, he declared himself to Khalid as Brigadier General, which indeed chaotic of military system or abuse of military rules.ā
The opposition official added that: āTo certify you with crystal fact about Wilson, I would like to assure you that, āWilson Walā is a PVT in our military list; during registration, he personally filled the form as Major and just wait for verification of whether he would be confirmed as Major or being demoted to his contrasted level āPVTā as his military skill determine him to remains there.ā
