Ex-governor of Kapoeta state injured in car crash

May 22, 2020 (SSNN) – Former governor of South Sudan’s defunct Kapoeta state Louis Lobong has been injured in a car crush outside Juba this morning, close aides have said.

The former governor was heading to Torit when his car overturned in just a few miles away from Gumbo area, a Juba suburb on the other side of the river Nile.

“Yes the Hon. Louis Lobong has had a car accident this morning. He is injured and he is now being treated a private hospital in Juba here,” one aide said.

Another aide to the South Sudan News Now (SSNN) that the former governor was heading to Torit when the incident happened at 9:30 AM today and said he and two bodyguards were injured but others weren’t.

The aide said there were seven people in the two cars including Lobong himself.

“The accident occurred at 9am this morning. The governor was going to Torit and all inside are safe including himself who had minor injuries,” he added.
