Entrance to South Sudan presidency restricted over coronavirus

March 26, 2020 (SSNN) — South Sudan on Thursday restricted the entrance to the presidential palace as part of preventive measures against coronavirus.

“All appointments with H.E. the President are temporarily restricted for Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Heads of commission, MPs. Generals from organized forces, other government officials and all members of the public,” reads a notice by issued by Mayiik Ayii Deng, the minister in the office of the president.

He said the “entry Entry to State House (J1) is also restricted and all those seeking entry to State House shall submit written request to the Security office at the Main Gate in J1 for further transmission.”

“All other emergency issues that require immediate attention of H.E. the President shall also be submitted in writing through the same channel specified in number two above for clearance by the Minister of Presidential Affairs,” the notice added.

Mayiik said the notice was in “adherence to the Presidential Order and the Communiqué of the High Level Taskforce on COVID-19 preventive measures, and advíce from Presidential Medical Unit.”
