CTSAMVM conducts a community engagement workshop in Leer

Thursday Jan 10th, 2019(SSNN) — The CTSAMVM Monitors in Leer conducted a one-day workshop in Leer on 8th January 2019

In attendance were SPLA IO Battalion Commanders from Brigade 4, Religious Leaders, Youth, Women groups, Elders and members from the local community as well as Col James, the SPLA IO Spokesperson of Unity State Sector II.

In his remarks during the workshop, Leer SPLA IO County Commissioner Col. Stephen Chap Kai welcomed CTSAMVM and called upon the participants to pay attention and learn more on Peace Agreement signed by the parties under the auspices of IGAD.

He also requested the officials who attended the workshop to support IGAD and give peace a chance to prevail in South Sudan.

The Community engagement workshop hosted by CTSAMVM covered Chapter II of the R-ARCSS with focus on the organization’s mandate in South Sudan, and reporting on and management of SGBV issues as stipulated in the Peace Agreement.
