Congratulations to President Salva Kiir and Dr Riak Machar

Nov 9th, 2019 (SSNN)-The extension of the pre-transitional period for 100 days effective from November 12, 2019, is a positive step towards building genuine peace in South Sudan. This will enable the warring parties to iron out the critical pending issues.

It says a monitoring review report will be filed after 50 days. That means in between the 12th day to the 100th day will be accompanied by activities. This calls for President Salva Kiir and Dr Riak Machar in support of their guarantors to clearly outline a policy implementation matrix or an action plan matrix to show how each item will be implemented practically with the 100 days.

Sadly, to the Splinter opportunistic groups in Juba, this is not good news in their ears because they’ve prepared their new suits to welcome the November 12th formation of the government. We encourage them to shelve their new suits in the wardrobe pending the elapsed of 100 days. Those who’ve borrowed their suits on loans should go and apologize to the shopkeepers and later pay back with interest.

In effect, the extension works for the good of the suffering citizens who are trodden down by their leaders. The issue is not about the security of Dr Riak Machar, but about the security of the people of South Sudan. Some are just contented of their soon to come positions, but never care about the security of their own people.

Congratulations to President Salva Kiir and Dr Riak Machar for making a wise decision that averts further conflict in the country. Thanks to the wisdom of Dr Lam Akol who foresee dangers in the country. We anticipate that they will keep on with genuine engagement in addressing the issues at hand and come out with tangible solutions.

It’s high time for the short-sighted splinter groups to join this noble rationale for total stability of the country. Equally, the UNSC and IGAD should put the interest of people of South Sudan above their geopolitical interests.
