Canada condemns latest attack on aid workers in South Sudan

Dec 6th, 2019 (SSNN)-The Canadian Ambassador to South Sudan, Douglas Scott Poudfoot has condemned recent attacks on international aid workers in their compound in Maban County.

On December 1, a group of armed men stormed the International Relief Compound in Bunj town, assaulted five humanitarian workers and got away with large sums of money.

In a brief statement on Friday, the Canadian ambassador strongly condemned the act and said those responsible for the attacks on aid workers must be dealt with and brought to justice without further delay.

“Join in condemning this attack on Relief International in South Sudan . Humanitarian Workers providing life – saving assistance to some of the most vulnerable communities should not fear for their lives . Those responsible should be held accountable & brought swiftly to justice,” he wrote on his official Twitter account.

In the past few days, the Humanitarian Coordinator in South Sudan, Alain Noudéhou, condemned these senseless attacks on humanitarian aid workers in the Maban area of South Sudan.
