“Yes, according to my information, he has been killed today. It was about 12, when he died,” the military source who refused not to be named said from South Sudan’s capital Juba.

Kerbino was a former South Sudan National Security employee. He was arrested in April 2018 for allegedly planning rebelion against the government – a charge that may cause death or life sentence – but was released in January this year through a presidential pardon.

Last week, exactly on June 5, 2020, he announced during an interview with the VOA’s South Sudan in Focus that he had formed a rebel group known as ‘The 7th October Movement’ to fight against Kiir’s “injustice and oppression.”

His killing comes barely four days after a tribal armed commander was killed for reportedly supporting him.

The army did not however announced Monydiar’s killing, but reports said that the man was killed along with his seven wives and one child.
