March 25, 2020(SSNN) — Sudanese Minister of Defense, Lt. Gen. Jamal El Deen Omar, died this morning in South Sudan’s capital, Juba.
According to latest reports from Juba, Lt. Gen. Jamal died of heart attack on Wednesday morning, March 25, 2020.
The Minister of Defense, Lt. Gen. Jamal,traveled to Juba as part of a transitional government delegation to participate in negotiations in Juba.
Gen. Jamal was a member of military council that seized power through a military coupe from the former president, Omar Hassan el Bashir.
The Military Council was later replaced by the Sovereign Council that will run the country for 39 months leading to establishment of a civilian government.
