Bieh State Governor appoints two Commissioners in gubernatorial decree

December 27th, 2019 (SSNN)—The opposition-appointed Governor of Bieh State, Gen. Simon Hoth Duol has issued a gubernatorial decree, appointing Tut Riek Luak as commissioner of Akobo Center County and Sebit Kuol Dhol as Commissioner of Pieri County.

“In exercise of the powers conferred to me by the Chairman and Commander -In- Chief of the SPLM/A-IO by his Decree. No. SPLM/S G’A/005/2018 dated July 3″ 2018 and after considering the recommendations from the concerned communities, I, Simon H. Duol Bol, Governor of Bieh State, do hereby decree the appointment of the above mentioned two County Commissioners with effect from the date of this decree,” the statement said.

General Simon Hoth Duol took over as Governor of Bieh state in July 2019 after the death of the late Koang Rambang.

He also served as Deputy Governor of Bieh state before his elevation in 2018.

Established in 2013, following the outbreak of violence in the country, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-in-Opposition (SPLM-IO), is a key signatory to the R-ARCSS and is headed by former Vice-president Dr. Riek Machar Teny.
