February 26, 2020 (SSNN)–The President of South Sudan, Salva Mayardit and the newly appointed Vice Presidents on Tuesday urged  members of the public to remain optimistic, saying that there is a committee charged with allocating ministerial portfolios and that the new Cabinet Ministers of the coalition government will be announced in due course.

“The Presidency also wants to inform the people of South Sudan that there are committees from all sides working on the allocation of the Ministries and the cabinet will be announced as soon as the committees finish the task.”

This statement comes after the president and his five vice presidents held an urgent meeting for the first time since the formation of the Transitional National Unity Government on February 22.

On the same note, the South Sudanese leaders decided to forgive each other and equally asked for for forgiveness from the people of South Sudan.

“The President and all the Vice Presidents have forgiven each other and urged all the South Sudanese also to forgive them and pray for them so we embark on reconciliation, forgiveness and healing of our broken social fabric.”

The leaders called on internally displaced persons to come out from the United Nations’ premises.

“The Presidency call on our people in POCS to come out and for those refugees in neighboring countries to return home and resettle. The Government will do its utmost best to ensure they are supported to resettle in their home areas.”
