Monday 13, 2019(SSNN) — Compatriots, fellow students and youth of South Sudan, the waithood is over; everyone deserves equal and just rights. The faces who have been around for 15 years must leave. They massacred our aged parents, they raped our sisters and mothers, killed our youngsters and children would be the future of our great Country, South Sudan. Our long liberation struggle for independent and future of South Sudan is a symbol of its past and must again this time from a hatred, sowed tribalism and fascist régime.
This old habits together with its JCE must die hard, it’s the young who liberated this Country, and consequently the same youth thriving the anticipated protest movement. We want a generational shift equipped with modern ideas to run the State, they’ve failed us.
The same strengths we used during the liberation struggle is alive and this corrupt government must face it, the long awaited patience is gone.
The strong man is the youth who will not hit back, but who stand up for his rights and yet not surrendered. This is a testing point that will determine the burgeoning rights deserved for our Country. The only means to heal is to take action now, that this bloodshed in our Country must End.
The youth have the voices and we must not be afraid to use it no matter what, we must continue to raise our voices. We must speak out so that we feel empowered.
We have waited enough living in waithood, we are forced to improvise livelihoods outside the dominant economic and familial paradigm. The disillusionment of marginalized youth in South Sudan has pushed us into more open and vociferous action in the political arena.
Youth have long in history effected significant changes, driving longstanding dictators out of power and eventually their actions have expanded the political space for public participation and broadened the barriers of freedom for all challenging the State’s monopoly of the political discourse, that this is what we’ve been lacking in South Sudan, we must push out the status quo with great courage and assertiveness.
Compatriots, we want a Democratic State with justice, peace, freedom, equality, social cohesion, prosperity, harmony, inclusivity, federal State and and devolution of powers to the people.
We want a unity of the people regardless of their tribes, region and sectionalism. We have a shared historical experiences and respect for diversity that existed long ago and recently been betrayed by the incumbent regime. We must restore back the dignity of our suffering civilians and this does come overnight, it need our collective action based on a just cause. The autocratic régime must be brought to book, that accountability, transparency and good governance must prevail as well as the rule of law be established.
They failed to safeguard the rights of our children, youth, widows, orphans, people with disabilities, wounded heroes and heroines, and war veterans. The régime failed to pursue a good foreign policy and International relations based on national interests, respect among nations and preservation of regional, global peace and stability, but pursued individuals interest.
This is the time to wake up, the future of any nation is always in the hand of the youth, the life of the corrupt leaders lies in our hands. We must end this power hegemony of the régime with immediate effect. Our power as youth, well organized can never be underestimated whatsoever. They killed more Red Card Movement Activists in Juba and that will never stop us marching toward the walk to freedom. We must sacrifice our souls for betterment of this great nation so that our children live in peace.
