Jubek State’s police arrest criminals, recover stolen equipment and vehicles
Nov 14th, (SSNN)-The South Sudan National Police Service (SSNPS) in Jubek state on Tuesday arrested criminal gangs in connection with stolen vehicles and media equipment robbed in various locations in the capital Juba.
Speaking to reporters at Jubek State’s Police General Headquarters, the Police Spokesperson Maj. Gen. Daniel Justin Buolo confirmed that the patrol police had arrested a number of suspects, and the investigation was being carried out before their arraignment to court.
“Police in Jubek arrested 8 prime suspects over the theft of phones, TV set, TV receiver, one computer laptop and hardtop landcruiser in areas of Hai Neem, Hai, commercial, Hai mayo and Hai Nira talata in Juba,” said a statement.
Over the past few months, there have been a spate of reported incidents of armed night robberies, burglary and other related crimes by unruly criminals, forcing residents to live in complete fear that their belongings are at risk of being lost to thieves.
Several residents interviewed last last by South Sudan News now attributed the surge in criminal activities to the ongoing instability in the country.
