Garang’s son debunks resignation from SPLM-IO

July 12, 2020 (SSNN) – The SPLM-IO spokesman, Mabior Garang de ‘Mabior, who is also the group’s Chairperson of National Committee for Information and Public Relations, has denied reports that he resigned blaming “NPTC regime” in Juba.
Earlier this morning, a document purported to be a resignation from Mabior Garang de ‘Mabior, was circulated online raising panic among the SPLM-IO membership.
“What you are hearing – concerning my abandoning the peoples’ Movement – is fake news and wishful thinking from the intellectual mercenaries of the NPTC regime in Juba. They feel threatened by our – #nationalconversation – non-violent struggle,” Mabior Garang said in a statement.
Mabior said he would soon “write an opinion on this matter soon to show how asinine the whole idea even is.”
“Our focus must remain on learning the provisions of the Agreement so that we can use it against the NPTC regime which has hijacked the peace process and wish to maintain the barbaric status quo.”
