Fighting at Wau central prison kills 1, wounds 3

July 13, 2020 (SSNN) – Fighting at Wau central prison this afternoon has killed at least one person and wounded three others after prisoners grabbed guns from prison guards before they scape, according to police officers in Wau.
This afternoon, over 70 inmates break out of Wau Central Prison, after confiscating guns from prison guards who they overwhelmed at the time. This led to armed confrontation between the guards and the prisoners.
This – according to one police source – resulted in the killing of one prisoner and the wounding of three prisoners.
“One person from the prisoners has been killed. Three from the prison guards have been wounded,” the police source said in Wau adding that “seventeen of them have been re-arrested but some are still being hunted.”
