May 12, 2020 (SSNN) – South Sudan coronavirus cases have jumped to 194 on Tuesday after the ministry of health said in a statement this evening that eighteen more people tested positive for the virus.

The undersecretary in the ministry of health, Dr. Makur Koryiom, told the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting (SSBC) this evening following a meeting of the high-level taskforce that all, but five, of the latest cases were South Sudanese.

Makur further said the current state of surge in cases was a concern to the government and the high-level taskforce.

He urged those tested to cooperate in the tracing of contacts so that the spread is curbed.
