February 6th, 2020 (SSNN)—The US Senate has voted to acquit President Donald Trump of abuse of power and obstruction of congress — both charges levelled against him by the House of Representatives. Senators voted 52 to 48 to acquit on abuse of power and 53 to 47 on obstruction of Congress in the third ever presidential impeachment trial.

In a statement issued after the impeachment victory, US President Donald Trump said he would deliver an official speech on what he described the “Impeachment Hoax ” against the head of state.

“I will be making a public statement tomorrow at 12:00pm from the White House to discuss our Country’s victory on the Impeachment Hoax,” Trump just announced on Twitter.

Douglas Lawrence Lamborn, the U.S. Representative for Colorado’s 5th congressional district blasted Democratic lawmakers for turning the most powerful legislative body into an impeachment forum.

“House Dems attempted to turn the world’s most powerful legislative body into their personal impeachment forum.
the Framers knew the country would need a firewall to keep partisan flames from scorching our Republic,” said Douglas.
