BREAKING: Head of Sudan’s military council rejects resignation of three members

April 25th 2019 (SSNN) – The head of Sudan’s Transitional Military Council (TMC) Abdel Fatah al-Burhan rejected on Thursday the resignation of three of the council members, a senior military source from Khartoum said.

On Wednesday, the council spokesman, al-Kabashi said in a statement that three members of Sudan’s Transitional Military Council have resigned.

The resigning members includes Lieutenant General Omar Zain al-Abideen, who is the Chairperson of Political Committee of the Council.

Those who also rendered their resignation were Lieutenant General Jalal al-Deen al-Sheikh, and Police Lieutenant General Al-Tayeb Babakr.

Al-Kabashi further said in the statement that their resignation was in our of the council Chairperson and that it was yet to be accepted adding that the council would make it decision public soon.

“Their resignation was not accepted and that they will continue to work alongside the Chairman because they contributed in ousted al-Bashir,” the military source said from Khartoum.
